A world map was always in view, either on a TV screen to the front of the plane, on the back of the seat in front of me, or in a magazine. I would often daydream how wonderful it must have been to be an early explorer…so many sights and emotions….truly amazing people experiencing so much”
Having recently moved to Devon, to be nearer family, I look forward to some beach time in the Spring/Summer and exploring Dartmoor in the cooler months. Outside of family life, I enjoy playing a game of cricket on a summer afternoon
or watching Speedway. I used to follow Coventry & Birmingham when I lived in the Midlands but now I follow Plymouth, Getting some of today’s young Speedway riders into wearable airbags is a bonus, and a great excuse to visit trackside and talk shop!!
I’ve been involved with Helite UK since the beginning, in 2012. Part of the mission statement from day one, in this small, family-run business; was to put the customer first, and this still very much applies today.
Looking back, some memories that really stand out for me, happened in the early days. A husband & wife came to see Peter (our MD) at a show in London. The gentleman had been in a major motorbike accident and after he shook Peter’s hand, the wife hugged Peter, crying & thanking him. She said it was due to Peter selling her husband an airvest, that she was still able to spend her life with him. That was a real ‘lump in the throat moment.
Shortly after that, we were at a show in Edinburgh, where a gent came to see me, however I was busy with customers. He returned later & thanked me for saving his life. I recall saying “but the airbag saved your life” to which he replied, “but you convinced me to buy one, so you saved my life!”
It is these moments and the many testimonials we receive, that gets me motivated every day.
I am proud to be part of something that is saving lives.
