Peter Riley: Managing Director
If you could be ‘a fly on the wall’ for a day, whose office would you want to be in?
“Gareth Southgate’s. He has overseen and implemented change within a structure which had struggled to deliver good results. He has placed a new and fresh emphasis on the importance of ‘team England’ and a team can always ‘out compete’ a single individual.”
Born into a family fully engrained in textiles, it was almost inevitable that I would follow a similar path. As a very keen sportsman, enjoying a wide range of sports, it was golf which took me to Portstewart on Thursday, 18th May 2008.
We hadn’t initially realized that it was practice night for the North-West 200. I was fascinated by the length of the circuit and the time it was taking the riders to complete one lap….with their average speed being around 120 mph! I targeted my watch on a particular rider and was amazed that he was lapping close to the course record.
Later that evening, whilst we enjoyed a Chinese meal, our waitress became very upset at the news that Robert Dunlop had died. It was only the following morning, when reading the local newspaper, I realized that it was Robert I had been timing.
And so my interest in Motorsport began, and with a series of fortunate coincidences and opportunities, I arrived at the door of Helite in 2012. The technical changes and improvements in rider safety have increased dramatically over the past 10 years and we have been so fortunate to represent Helite during this period, with their R & D and product innovation, having few equals.
I am happy that our team are delivering our mission:
‘To improve the safety and wellbeing of motorcyclists and horseriders in the UK and Ireland’.
We are flattered by some of the outstanding testimonials we have received to date,
but for us there is still a long way to go.
