What happened: I came off my motorcycle in November. The conditions for the most part of my ride were good however as I entered a left hand bend I realised that it was damp and covered in pine needles.
I came in a bit too fast for the conditions and low sided after trying to scrub off some speed. I hit the ground and slid across the road coming to a stop on the opposite verge. It was close to the end of my ride and my concentration was not where it needed to be and this was completely avoidable.
My e-vest was fully inflated before I hit the ground and it certainly helped in preventing any serious injury. My head hit the ground and my helmet is ruined however as my neck was completely stabilised by the jacket I have not suffered any neck injury. I have been known to leave the Airvest at home occasionally but I now can say for certain that I will not ride again without one.
