The Helite lanyard system uses a multi-directional key-ball trigger – this is a proven and safe system. The lanyard and saddle strap must be fitted correctly in order for the air jacket system to work correctly.

Replacement Equestrian Lanyard Key Features

  • A clip and a key ball are located at each end of the lanyard.
  • The equestrian lanyard & saddle strap are standard across all Helite horse-riding products.
  • We strongly recommend that you get one saddle strap per saddle and you leave each securely attached at all times.
  • Keep it away from anything sharp or abrasive that could damage or weaken the strap.
  • Please see the instruction manual supplied with the jacket for help in attaching your lanyard.

Which airbags and vests can this be used with?

Answer: This can be attached to any mechanically triggered airbag or airvest that needs to attach to an equestrian saddle strap.

Fitting your Helite Equestrian Lanyard – THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!

  • A clip and a key ball are located at each end of the lanyard.
  • The key ball needs to be re-inserted into the piston in order for the vest to trigger correctly. Please watch our instructional video or refer to user guide to make sure you have this correctly positioned.
  • Once the key ball end of the lanyard is secured you then clip yourself onto the saddle strap once you have mounted your horse.
  • The closer the lanyard and saddle strap are to your centre of gravity when seated on your horse the better.
  • Try out the length and adjust it until you reach an optimal length.
  • It should only be tight when you are stood up.
  • If the length of the strap is too long the inflation of the airbag jacket could be delayed.
  • Keep it away from anything sharp or abrasive that could damage or weaken the strap.
  • Please see the instruction manual supplied with the jacket for help in attaching your lanyard.
